Sarah Finneran MBACP
I believe everyone deserves a space where they can be truly heard, understood and accepted exactly as they are.
Maya Angelou said "without change there would be no butterflies", and this quote was the beginning of Butterfly Garden Counselling.
I work with adults and young people aged 11 and above.
My own experiences led me to counselling after seeing how powerful it can be to have someone genuinely listen without judgement or pressure to fix things and simply be present as you find your way through.
In my practice, I offer a calm and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
My work is primarily grounded in Person Centred therapy but I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your individual needs. Sometimes this means talking things through and at other times it may involve creative ways of expressing what feels difficult to put into words.
I have experience supporting people through many of life’s challenges including anxiety, stress, depression, loss and bereavement, identity concerns, low self esteem and difficulties at work, school or within family life.
I also have a particular interest in supporting women’s mental health and self image across the different stages of life.
This includes helping young women navigate the pressures of adolescence, supporting women through the emotional and physical changes of child bearing years and offering a compassionate space for those experiencing the transitions of perimenopause and menopause.
Each stage can bring its own challenges and questions about identity, confidence and wellbeing and I am here to help you make sense of these experiences with understanding and care.
For me, counselling is about connection and growth. It is about helping you make sense of your experiences, discover new perspectives and move forward feeling more grounded and at ease.
However you arrive at counselling, you are welcome here.
This is your space to talk, reflect and begin to heal.
